Portable concrete mixing skid
Designed, wired, and installed this control cabinet for a portable concrete mixing skid. This system is utilized for special concrete applications in underground gold mines.
Underground airlock control system
Fabricated and commissioned this panel for controlling an underground airlock system. This is unique in the way it operates. It consists of a double door system underground to create an isolated air space. This isolated air space provides a safe means for equipment to enter and exit the mine without compromising fresh air ventilation.
Radial Stacker
The customer requested the ability to operate this conveyor remotely from a nearby scale house. In the past, the operators would have to walk out to the conveyor and operate it utilizing a local control panel. This made it difficult for the fuel receiving department to run efficiently.
I designed, installed, and commissioned the remote-control system so that it operates with the original PLC program. The operators now have the ability to operate the conveyor with remote or local controls. An audible and visual alarm system has been integrated to provide notification of movement during remote operation.
Duct Booster Fan
This customer called me in to inspect a fan motor that was tripping on current overload. After inspecting this motor, I found that the bearings had failed. I was able to locate replacement bearings and install them without removing the motor. This made for a quick efficient repair.
Fuel blockage prevention for Metering Bin Fuel Feed System
This power plant customer requested support for integrating diaphragm switches into their existing fuel feed system. The switches are located at the discharge of the metering bin fuel feed. Changes in fuel (wood chips) can sometimes cause blockages. The purpose of these diaphragm switches is to quickly detect a nuisance fuel blockage and to make it much easier to resolve. I designed and installed the control circuit and components in such a way that it works efficiently with the existing system.
